BPP to conduct Writeshop on Biodiversity Mainstreaming to CLUP

The Lake Mainit Development Alliance through its Biodiversity Partnerships Project (BPP) will be conducting Writeshop on Biodiversity Mainstreaming to Comprehensive Land Use Plan of LGUs in Lake Mainit Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) on February 6-8, 2013 at Butuan City. The planners and technical staff from eight LGUs particularly Tubay, Santiago, Jabonga and Kitcharao from Agusan del Norte and LGUs of Alegria, Mainit, Tubod and Sison will be attending on the said Writeshop.

Biodiversity mainstreaming to CLUPs is one of the milestone target of the BPP to Lake Mainit KBA LGUs.  Specifically, the Writeshop activity desires to assist LGUs in securing data from government line agencies and provide them with other necessary data and information relevant in mainstreaming biodiversity conservation in CLUPs; to have data sharing between the LGUs, government line agencies and private companies for data harmonization and determination of data gaps; to provide backgrounder for Technical Writers to officially start its engagement; and to have a draft CLUP with mainstreamed biodiversity framework and methods.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMeanwhile, the LMDA with DENR-PAWCZMS Caraga successfully facilitated a Biodiversity Mainstreaming to CLUP Pre-Workshop Meeting last January 17, 2013 held at PPDO Conference Room, Provincial Capitol Compound, Surigao City to discuss and identify the data gaps that will be provided prior to the actual Writeshop. ♥
